Kunchacko Boban is an Indian film producer, actor, and dancer, who is the grandson of Kunchacko, the founder of Udaya Pictures. Boban mainly works in Malayalam films. Boban became an overnight sensation with his performance in the 1997 film Aniyathipravu. His other popular works include Gulumal: The Escape, Chaaver, Pada, Officer on Duty, etc.

Boban has starred in more than 100 films with brilliance and is also known as the “Chocolate Boy” because of his 'Romeo' character.

Kunchacko Boban was born on 2^nd November, 1976 in Alappuzha, Kerala and brought up here. His father Boban Kunchacko is an actor and his mother's name is Molly Boban, she is a housewife. He has two sisters Anu Boban and Minu Boban. Boban Kunchacko's father, Boban's grandfather Kunchacko is the founder of Udaya Studios and Udaya Pictures.

He trained in Bharatanatyam as a child and completed his primary and higher studies in Tamil Nadu. He graduated from Sanatana Dharma College in 1997 with a first-class B.Com. Being a sports lover, he plays Football, Cricket, Badminton, Table tennis, and other sports; Especially Badminton is his favorite sport.

Kunchacko Boban made his film debut in 1981 with the movie Dhanya produced by his father. He has worked in more than 100 films in almost two decades.

Kunchacko's Success in Films

He entered the acting world completely with the film Aniathipravu (1997). It was directed by versatile director Fazil and the movie is considered the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time. After that, He acted in more films like Niram (1999), Sathyam Sivam Sundaram (2000), and Kalyanaraman (2002).

He temporarily retired from the film industry in 2005. Then in 2016, Kunchacko revamped Uday Pictures Film Production.

He started 2018 with the films Poomaram, Shikkari Shambhu, and Kuttanadan Marpappa which wowed the audience. His performance in Shikkari Shambhu was highly appreciated and he gained millions of fans for this movie.

In 2019, he acted in the medical thriller film "Virus," directed by Aashiq Abu. He played the role of Dr. Suresh Rajan. Later the 2020 film Anjaam Pathiraa received a very positive response. It was the highest-grossing Malayalam film of 2020 and grossed ₹50 crore worldwide.

Following the success of Anjaam Pathiraa, Boban has been starring in hit films like Nayattu (2021), 2018 (2023), Chaver (2023), and Officer on Duty (2025). The year 2022 saw four films, Pada, Nna Thaan Case Kodu, Ottu, and Declaration, which earned him numerous accolades as a mature and versatile actor, And from the film “Nna Thaan Case Kodu,” he also won the Best Actor Award.
